How AI Is Changing Developers’ Daily Work — A Hands-On Workshop Recap

On July 2nd, we opened the doors of Pragmatic Coders HQ in Kraków for a special event: a practical workshop on how AI supports everyday development work. Led by our AI-savvy developers, Jakub Pruszyński and Sebastian Druciak, the session brought together engineers from outside our organization to explore real use cases, share experiences, and learn from one another.
The group was diverse — from junior developers curious about AI to seasoned professionals already integrating tools like ChatGPT, Cursor, Aider, or GitHub Copilot into their workflows. This mix of perspectives sparked valuable discussions and inspired both participants and hosts.
What We Did
The workshop was built around practical application — no lectures, no fluff. Together, we worked through a real-world development scenario, step by step, using AI from start to finish:
17:00 – Welcome and networking
17:15 – Intro: How we use AI in our projects
17:45 – Group work: Solving a real problem with AI tools
18:30 – Pizza break and informal discussions
18:50 – Iteration, testing, and refactoring
19:30 – Solution presentations
19:50 – Q&A, feedback, wrap-up
Participants experienced firsthand how AI can speed up coding, improve analysis, assist with testing, and support refactoring — all based on real project practices from our teams.
What We Took Away
Practical, ready-to-use know-how for applying AI in development
Insights into how different teams approach AI adoption
Shared tools and resources, including checklists and promptbooks
A strong sense of community and mutual learning
What’s Next?
We’re already thinking about future editions — possibly with separate tracks for those just starting with AI and those more advanced. If you’d like to join next time, stay tuned.
It was energizing to step outside our usual bubble and meet such an engaged developer community. Thanks to everyone who joined — and see you at the next one!
