Building CardiaPath: Remote Therapeutic Monitoring Platform

CardiaPath provides personalized at-home cardiology care. The platform aims to:

• Monitor Hypertension Patients: Focused on patients in New York clinics.
• Provide Personalized Care: Custom exercise plans and cardiological advice.
• Integrate Wearable Data: Collects biometric data (exercise quality, quantity, intensity) from devices like a smart ring.
• Enable RTM Billing: Assigns tasks and tracks patient conditions so clinics can bill using RTM codes.

The project included building:

• Patient Mobile App (iOS & Android): For following care paths and syncing data.
• Clinical CRM System: For monitoring patients and managing data.
• Backend: To support both apps and manage data flow.

Technical Challenges

The team faced several complex challenges:

• Hardware Integration: Connected to a smart ring via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
• AI & Computer Vision: Integrated third-party AI (Kamtai) for exercise analysis.
• Advanced Tech Stack: Used Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose in a production app, which had a steep learning curve.
• Domain Complexity: Navigated U.S. healthcare rules and RTM billing logic.
