Sales AI is a custom workflow that improves how we handle inquiries in our “#sales” Slack channel. It automatically analyzes website contact messages and gives us instant insights about potential leads.
The Challenge
Before Sales AI, we faced several hurdles:
- We relied on gut feeling to identify legitimate inquiries versus spam
- Manual lead research consumed valuable time
- We had limited information beyond what was in contact forms
The Solution
We built an n8n workflow that analyzes messages and delivers insights directly in Slack threads.
Key Components:
- Message Intake: Website forms and Calendly meetings automatically forward to Slack, triggering the workflow
- AI Analysis: OpenAI performs a web search looking for information about the person. Then it gives us a nice short summary along with its recommendation – all in a Slack thread.
- Interactive Q&A: Team members can ask follow-up questions about leads.
Results
- Better Qualification: Data-backed decisions instead of gut feelings
- Cleaner Communication: Organized threads instead of notification overload
- Time Efficiency: Instant research that used to take 15-20 minutes per lead
- Scam Protection: Early identification of suspicious messages

We’re looking to
- Connect Sales AI with our CRM.
- Classify messages as legitimate leads, scams, partnership opportunities, or irrelevant inquiries.
- Generate follow-up suggestions.
- Build pattern recognition for recurring lead sources.
